.:: The little things in our everyday life ::.
It happens very often that we underestimate the small details of our life
style and usually not until after we start going without them, we
understand
that they come out to have been very important. This applies especially to
the wine accessories, which (with the exception of the corkscrew and
glasses)
have always at first seemed a conceit, but once coming into our homes it
becomes very difficult to part with them. It is needless to say that a
small part of these objects have never exited in the life of people until
about ten years ago. Let’s take drop stops as an example. Earlier
instead of the small foil
circles that are used to
form a seal, which prevents any liquid from
seeping out and the escape of any drops,
people have used linen napkins or just paper serviettes, trimly placed
like a necktie around the neck of the bottle. By the way this is still
considered an appropriate drop stop in many restaurants. And it is much
nicer and above all more practical to use a real drop stop pouring disk.
